Chnari is the imprint left behind when you pass through a place; for us, that place is the thought and the soul of the reader.

At Chnari Publications, we publish books that leave their mark: words engraved in memory, ideas that return again and again, stories that become a personal part of the reader.

Literature and essays, texts that engage in dialogue with the present as well as the timeless voices of the past.
The vision of the publishing house is to illuminate ideas and open fertile conversations. To offer the reader texts that leave an imprint, that are not just read, but continue to accompany them in their thoughts and their journey.
For the value of a book is measured by how deeply we carry it within us.
As Virginia Woolf wrote: “Books are the mirrors of the soul.”

Chnari Publications was founded by Lena Samara Georgopoulou in July 2025.

WINTER DREAMS PHOTO

F. Scott Fitzgerald - Winter dreams

The journey of Chnari Publications begins this autumn with a writer who stands as a symbol of American literature: F. Scott Fitzgerald. A story that carries the atmosphere and sensitivity of an era, along with the timeless power of literature, comes in a new Greek translation and marks our very first imprint.

Silvana Grasso - La domenica vestivi di rosso

Next comes a remarkable novel, in collaboration with the Italian publishing house Marsilio.

Silvana Grasso’s writing is explosive and deeply Sicilian; bold enough to stir the waters of tradition with a rich, sensual, and uncompromising language. Her stories do not leave the reader untouched, they challenge and captivate.

Paola Caridi - Il gelso di Gerusalemme

Chnari joins its voice with the renowned Italian publisher Feltrinelli. Three books from their catalogue will be published for the first time in Greek, opening a new dialogue between the two languages and literary traditions.

Paola Caridi is a writer and journalist who blends the gaze of a historian with the subtlety of a storyteller. Her writing sheds light on the great shifts of the Mediterranean through unexpected details, giving voice to what is usually left in silence.

4.-Di-madre-in-figlia-της-Concita-De-Gregorio.jpg

Concita De Gregorio - Di madre in figlia

With her characteristic clarity and tenderness, Concita De Gregorio weaves narratives that dissect the female experience. Her stories touch with simplicity and strength on the most personal threads of life: motherhood, freedom, memory.

5.-La-nebbia-e-il-fuoco-του-Roberto-Cotroneo.jpg

Roberto Cotroneo - La nebbia e il fuoco

Roberto Cotroneo writes with an atmosphere that moves between the real and the mythical, giving depth to the notions of memory and History. His literature is both reflective and gripping, an invitation to rediscover place and time.
